Cooking Classes at K
Fall Schedule
Hello there! I know, What happened to the summer cooking classes? Sorry!Caterings picked up at the restaurant and I just could not get them going. But think of it this way, I am well rested and have had plenty of time to think of some new classes that I think you will all enjoy. So take a look at the new schedule and get your name on our sign up sheets as soon as possible, because space is limited and all these classes are only taught once this session. Remember, if a class fills up and you can gather together a group of 12+ we can always do a private class on another available day. Private classes, here or in your own home, make for great showers or even dinner parties.

Upcoming Classes
Dessert Class - Tuesday, September 27th @ 5:30pm
People have been asking me to do just a dessert class for years and I just did not think it would interest people, but more and more of you have asked so I thought maybe it was time to give it a go. Here you will learn how easy it is to take a basic cake recipe and to turn it into different specialty cakes. Next, we will tackle pate a choux & and make cream puffs filled with gelato with chocolate sauce. To finish, a quick and easy dessert for those nights you just need a little something special at the end of a meal.
Recipes with a Story - Wednesday, October 5th @ 5:30
In the past few years I have been given several books that, while tell a great story, also include recipes of the food that has influenced the writer. For someone who reads a lot of just plain old technical cookbooks this has been really refreshing and there are a lot of great recipes that I would like to share. In this class I will be featuring the following books & the recipes from them:
- An Homemade Life
- A Paris Lunch
- The Cook and the Gardener
There is no required reading for this class, all that really matters is the food tastes great.
Fall Party Foods & Wines, Tuesday October 18th @ 5:30
Whatever the reason (football game, birthday party or last day of summer party) there is always time to learn some new party fare. In this class we will incorporate a lot of fall season produce as our main ingredients. Come learn more tricks of the trade to make your party a lot less stressful and a lot more fun to put on. We will also be tasting some great fall wines during this class and as always the wines will be available for sale at discounted prices afterwards. Plan your parties now!
Fruits of the Earth - Wednesday, November 2nd @ 5.30pm
I saw this chapter title in one of my cookbooks and I thought it would be a great premise for a class. Here we are going to see how versatile fruits can be in every course of a meal. From appetizer, to salad, to entree, to dessert we will showcase different fruits in each of our recipes.
Comfort Foods - Wednesday, November 16th @ 5:30
Now that we are starting to head into colder weather, foods that warm your body and your soul are what we crave. These recipes are all ones that fill that bill. Another fabulous thing about these recipes is that they all make wonderful leftovers. What more can you ask for.
